Big thanks to former congressman Steve Israel and Long Island University for organizing the first GOLD COAST BOOK FAIR.
Day One—
Set on LIU’s sprawling campus, authors of every genre gathered to share their books. Panel discussions and read alouds were the highlight of the day. Storytime with MAYA’S TREASURE was a big hit. And how cool to meet all the other picture book authors!
Day Two —
The heart of Oyster Bay was transformed. Peppered among lots of outdoor activities, a number of authors, myself included, were invited to discuss aspects of our middle grade novels within the halls of Long Islands most historic landmarks.
It was an event I will never forget!
